Q. How is this CD related to the book?
A. Parashara's Light SE is a companion CD to Vedic Astrology Simply Put. Parashara's Light SE is designed by Michiel Boender, and published and supported by GeoVision Software, Inc. Vedic Astrology Simply Put is written by William Levacy and published by Hayhouse. So the software product is not related to Hayhouse other than it being included in the book as a special benefit to the readers.

Q. Will Parashara's Light run on the Mactintosh?
A. The Starter's Edition included in this book, as well as the full version of Parashara's Light works on Windows as well as Macintosh OSX.

Q. Will Parashara's Light run on Windows Vista?
A. At the time of printing of the book, the development tools were not guaranteed to work on Vista yet, as Vista had not yet been released in its final form. By the time Vista is offically released, and in case you have problems, a Vista compatible version of Parashara's Light SE will be made available for the cost of shipping and handling ($8).

Q. After inserting the CD, nothing happens. What should I do?
A. Click on the Start button, and select "Run". At the prompt, type "C:/setup" (without the quotes), and press OK. The CD menu should launch now.

Q. After inserting the CD I get an error "disk I/O error, cannot read disk". What is wrong?
A. Either the disk is damaged, or your computer's CD drive is damaged. See if you can open any other CD without a problem. If so, the  problem is with the CD and you may request a replacement CD from the publisher.

Q. Am I allowed to make a backup of the CD?
A. Yes, you may make a backup of the CD for your own use.

Q. What do the symbols "Su", "Mo" etc. stand for in the chart?
A. Su is short for Sun, Mo=Moon, Ma=Mars, Me=Mercury, Ju=Jupiter, Ve=Venus, Sa=Saturn, Ra=Rahu, Ke=Ketu.

Q. What are the differences between Parashara's Light SE and the full version of Parashara's Light?
A. The full version has many, many more features such as: a) support for printing of worksheets and many reports, b) animated transits, c) a built in tutorials, d) lots of interactive features that let you learn and practice Vedic Astrology in a fun way, e) the ability to save charts and organize them in meaningful groups.
